The MSCI released July service center data showing flat-rolled shipments of 2.23m tons, down 4.6% from June and down 6.8% YoY. Flat-rolled inventory levels rose 140k tons or 2.5% MoM to 5.75m tons, up 10.2% YoY. M.O.H. increased 7.5% to 2.58, up 18% YoY.The CRU US Midwest HRC price was down $7 to $459/st. German CRU HRC lost $9 to $392 and Italian CRU HRC stayed unchanged at $344. Chinese CRU HRC slid $9 to $307 (all in short ton). The CRU US CRC and HDG price declined $4 and $3 to $592 and $655, respectively. The CRC-HRC differential decreased by $4 to $126/st.TSI daily prices did the following WoW: US HRC prices lost $2 to $466, NE HRC shed €4 to €379 ($391/st $5.5), ASEAN decreased by $5 to $313 ($283.89/st -$4.5) and Turkish Scrap was flat at $239. Platt’s pricing did the following: HRC, CRC and HDG were flat at $465, $585 and $660, respectively.
